    Valpolicella is one of the most prestigious italian“land of wine” and has been dedicated to winemaking since ancient times. The latin etymology of its name is "val polis cellae“ which means "the valley of many cellars” emphasize the bond with viticulture which started during the Roman period.
    Valpolicella valleys are stretching North to South. This structure has encouraged the viticulture by creating south-facing expositions.

The Valpolicella Wine Area

Valpolicella covers an area of 300 kmq made up of 11 valleys.

The area referred to as ‘Valpolicella Classico’, which is the most ancient area of production, due to its altitude, it’s the most suited to produce high-quality and prestigious wines as well. It lies within the boundaries of just 5 towns: Sant’Ambrogio, San Pietro in Cariano, Fumane, Marano and Negrar.
The northern boundary is demarcated by the Lessini mountains.
